25 Teams Press On

Congratulations to the 25 teams that submitted their business plans on Friday.  That was a lot of hard work by them and by our SBDC folks that worked with them.  I hope everyone is enjoying a well-deserved break from the intensity of putting the plan together.  The judges have the plans now and have already begun their evaluations. 

The next step in the competition is the oral presentations for the finalists.  The good news is that putting together a great presentation is easy when you have a great business plan.  We have two training sessions (Nov 17^th at 11:45 AM and Nov 30^th at 7 PM), both in Dillard Room 189 (same room as the previous presentations), on how to pitch your plan.  The task of building a great presentation is to take the information in the business plan and fit into a relatively standard “model” of 10-12 slides.  In the training session we’ll share with you that “template.”  You may surprise yourself at just how well you can present your idea in only a few minutes.  If you want to see some very good examples of presentations, click here (the first 10 minutes are the intro speeches … skip over those) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-3luctlC5ZY
